Rate this book
By late 1944 the war in the Pacific had turned against the Japanese & allied forces began to close in on the home islands. At this point Japan unveiled a terrifying new tactic: the suicide attack, or kamikaze, named after the 'divine wind'. This book looks at the origins of the campaign & at its strategic goals.

This book started out OK but rapidly deteriorated into a repetitous recitation of dead, wounded, missing, ship went for repairs, came back or didn't come back.

I skimmed the last 25% of the book. Really except for a few sections on tactics and ships I knew (USS Lahey and the Intrepid) this book was acolossal waste of my time
