Elizabeth Silver is a writer, a tarot reader, a Level Two Cat Lady, and an internet junkie. Her day job is terribly dull, her hobbies oddly specific and quirky, and her husband the most patient person a writer could ask for.

A New Jersey native, Liz is a proud nerd and an awkward human being. She likes to think it makes her endearing. When not writing, Liz can be found collecting tarot cards, chasing Pokemon, fighting her way out of YouTube spirals, and/or performing online searches that will probably land her on a government list somewhere someday.

This is pure smutty goodness, it's one step above PWP. It would normally be a 3 star review for me but a couple things pushed it up to 4. There is actually pretty good character development for a book that's about 60% sex. The other thing that made it good was the sex. I normally get confused with menage sex but this was well done, I knew where each person was and what he was doing at all times. It was pretty hot too. It's a good choice if you want a quick, hot, smutty read.

Steve, Chris and Jason have been best friends for twenty years. All gay, they have never initiated a physical relationship between them all this time. But, they secretly each have feelings for the other two. However, not wanting to upset the balance of the friendship, they each push their feelings away.

Many years ago when Jason’s parents passed away, the trio started the tradition of going skiing over the Thanksgiving holiday. On this trip though, tensions rise. Steve, who is tired of pretending not to have feelings for his friends, admits to wanting to leave Santa Fe to pursue a teaching job in Boulder. Chris and Jason are both hurt – but can’t do anything about it when a blizzard rolls through knocking out the power. Now all three stuck in cabin, their true feelings come out – and well, what else is there to do when you are snowed in with no power?

Where The Heart Is is an erotic male/male/male love story. This novella definitely delivers the sexy sexy times. Once the boys admit to each other they all want a physical relationship let the sexy times begin. I give this one good marks for the erotic romance portion of the book.

I think the authors do a nice job with each character – I really felt like I got to know each one in such a short time. Jason is the more type A man, Steve wears his emotions on his sleeve and Chris is there to keep everyone together. While I believed in their three-way attraction, I also think they dive into the sex and into the happily-ever-after future together without really defining each one’s roles. I mean, it is a big revelation to each of them that all three feel exactly the same way – they have been friends for TWO decades. So a little more emphasis on how exactly it is all going to work out would have been nice.

But like I said – going into this book you know it is about three dudes trapped in a cabin – and the expected romance scenes definitely met my expectations. I’ll be checking out Elizabeth Silver and Jenny Urban again.

I am trying not to let my disappointment about this book color my rating. Because I enjoyed their first book so much, I was disappointed by this one. And it's getting worse the more I reflect on the story. I really hope that it's just a sophomore slump kind of thing.

As Ingrid noted in her review the sudden introduction of subspace and D/s was really out of the blue and did not fit in well with the storyline up to that point. The authors really didn't manage to make that an integral part of the story, and I can't figure out why they introduced that new element into the story 2/3 of the way through. It definitely weakened the story IMO.

The book did make me realize something about my own tastes. I don't like the idea of a menage as a romantic thing. Menage as smexiness now that is a different thing. That works for me but not the hearts and flowers stuff or a HEA. It just is unbelievable to me even in the context of a romantic fantasy. Not to say that there isn't one out there that couldn't work for me, but it would be difficult.

IMO the authors' strengths are sweet sexiness between nice guys as demonstrated in their first book. Menages need to be a little dirty and not sweet, so I hope they avoid them in the future. Letting it go...

Reading the blurb I thought it sounded very similar to Rhianne Aile and Madeleine's Urbans Snowed in. 3 men trapped in a snowy cabin.
But the difference in this book is that all three are gay and know it. They have been friends for 2 decades but not lovers. That all is going to change this weekend. An unexpected announcement set things to the edge.
The blurb wasn't that promising because of the reason mentioned earlier and it is a ménage story (the excerpt though is very good, it was what won me over). They work or they don't. In this case I felt it worked. The boys had been turning around each other for so long, it felt good that they finally got together. I would have like to see them living together in an epilogue.

There is a WTF moment though. I thought it did not fit with this otherwise vanilla story, certainly not as strong as it was written down. But perhaps that is just me.

So this was something of a unique menage in that it's not a couple introducing a third. In this story, three best friends can't decide between each other, and it takes one of them deciding he needs to move away for them all to examine the situation and realize they all want to stay together, and none of them wants to choose one over another.

There's some tension along the way. But, all in all, I think the story worked for bringing them all together.

I love menage stories and really liked how this one doesn’t start with an established couple which puts them all on equal footing right away. However, two of the guys get a little jump start on hooking up which causes some of the angst in this short story as does the fact that crossing the line from friends to lovers is a big step. Nice!

Very nice, a bit choppy, but I liked the interracial aspect, that could have been played up a little bit, but overall a good read.

For July Category Challenge. Between 2.5 to 3.0 stars. This was a sweet story about 3 friends who all love each other & want to be together but none of them have let the others know. Menage relationships are a very hard sell for me. I had a hard time keeping straight all the 3 characters and why they all love each other equally or if that's even possible. Then two of them decides to pair off without telling the third one. Then the big understanding is all cleared up by everyone having sex. Then plans are made to buy a big house with a big bed and that's basically it. Pleasant story but it didn't tug at my heartstrings like the name implied.

This one sits between 2.5 and 3 stars for me. It was a nice story and on the whole the 3 male characters were well defined, but about a third of the way through, the story takes a sudden jump from all 3 of them hiding their love and lust for eachother to 2 of them being aware of it and the explanation is a little weak for such a leap, it left me feeling a little left behind. Otherwise, a really nice story and well written from the point of view that you are never left wondering which guy said what. I would read it again. Nx
