The book is focused on use of floral and gem essences, crystals, and energy works. Be careful with who you are spraying: some wouldn't like it, especially a boss or strangers.

This one in on my scale to educate you. While not particularly helpful in case of serious problem, if it wasn't an emotional attachment of "not letting it go", it does provide insight in what could be going on. Small things may have big consequences, chakras don't have to be open all the time, aura could be repaired and mended, easier types of psychic protection are offered (closing chakras, energy shields and pentagrams).

On the negative side, I have culture clash with the author's values and attitude, and overall reading this book was an experience, undermining remnants of self-respect and positive attitude.

For example, maybe the one fifth of book tries to convince you in necessity of psychic protection. Come on, if the person came to browse books om such topics, this is completely unnecessary, fill it by "how to" instead. Long lists of "ask yourself" questions without answers. Annoying case studies from practice of others psychic professionals, instead of how to do it yourself information. Excessive attention to the small matters at the cost of more serious problems.

Too much of "improve yourself" attitude instead of "protect yourself" that the reader came for. The unconditional love is discussed only with one presumption: you are the one who does not provide it, just what abusive relationships require. Jealous harpy, parent that still knows what is best for already grown child as a traumatic experiences, but no jealous "harpers" or abusive, inconsiderate grown children that see you only as a serf , at least both sides are not mentioned together. Protection, "cutting ties", is provided, but you have to find it between too much family relationships (what they have to do at all with attachments, negative spirits and curses?).

If you can overcome this, the book does provides some useful information and exercises for beginners.

Unluckily, the using them is given in superficial manner, as a list of suitable essences and gems, not how to and when and when not. "Should be cleansed by by putting crystal on them"... What crystal, how, for how long, how to make sure it worked? Several crystals from recommended have own specifics, which is not provided, you are on your own.

Protective talismans are just mentioned as a part of historical review (another completely unnecessary section at the cost of stuff that could be helpful). Not from author's personal experience. Another online review said that they are not effective for protection and one has to research their background before using.

Glossary or terms is embedded in text, in large print, in frames, interrupts reading and leaves impression of a children's book.

If this book doesn't help, and the things come that "can't be wished away with wishful thinking and few pentagrams in the air" or self-flagellation, I recommend:
The Practical Psychic Self Defense Handbook: A Survival Guide by Robert Bruce (materialistic measures),
Protection and Reversal Magic by Jason Miller (involves rituals),
Spiritual Clearings by Diana Burney (more from Christian perspective, catch-it-all, complete clearing, including karma)
and possibly books on psychic attack by Nita Hickok.

Even though the cover says that this book is suitable for both beginners and more experienced practitioners, I would say that this book is more geared towards the beginers/seekers. The material in the book is very basic, and presented in a simplified manner. I would definately recommend this book to anyone seeking an elementary understanding of psychic self defense.
