Rate this book
Mark is the youngest child of a professional family living in London. His two older sisters have left home, and his parents work in the City. It can be a lonely life for Mark as he takes himself to school and back. His one companion is a little robin he calls Joey, who flies up to his bedroom window and follows him to the bus stop to school each morning. One day his mother announces they are going to Devon for a long weekend to stay with her brother who has a farm. Mark is very excited. He is shown around the farm by his uncle and quickly becomes engaged with the magic of nature, the trees and he learns how critical ecology is, and the importance of preserving nature. Follow Mark and his discovery of nature along with the tragedies, twists and turns that belong to this magical place.
