Secret Teachings of Moses: Sex, the Soul, and God in the Garden of Eden

Rate this book
See what the religious authorities have hidden (or forgotten) for centuries.

• Unveils the true foundation of the greatest Western religions
• Restores the practical focus of true spirituality
• Solidly rooted in Kabbalah and the Hebrew letters

Moses, the great patriarch in the heart of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, wrote the first five books of the Bible or Tanakh, perhaps the most influential books in Western history. Yet, because they were written in Hebrew, a highly symbolic and deeply mystical language, few have revealed the true meanings of the stories and events he described. When you know the Hebrew letters and the structures of Kabbalah, the secret teachings of Moses radiate with stark clarity, and echo throughout the entire range of Jewish and Christian scriptures, especially in the Gospels of Jesus.

This book focuses on the second chapter of Genesis (Bereishit), which establishes the foundation of the Jewish and Christian religions. With this knowledge you can understand the true meaning of Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden, the presence of the serpent, and all of the rest of the teachings that follow these symbols. Yet, this is not merely scholarly theology: by understanding what Moses actually wrote, anyone can see the true basis of human suffering and how to change it.

Physically this book is a lot smaller than the average sized book you normally find at the library, however regardless of it's size this profound piece of literature contains over 300 pages of esoteric knowledge. The book delves deep into the mysteries of the bible, the angle of approach is rather distinct as the Kabbalistic interpretation is revealed, a symbolic language said to be the descendant of none other than the Verb, the Logos. Be prepared dear reader for this requires an open mind and a dedicated heart to all things good and true.

I really enjoyed reading about such a metaphorical perspective on Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, although, I was neither expecting nor was pleased about the negative connotation intimacy has in this book.

The book is authored by Aunel va Daath, a pen name for a student of Samael Aun Weor. Samael Aun Weor is recognized as a master and messenger of the White Lodge, as well as the founder of the Worldwide Gnostic movement. The White Lodge is known as the College of Initiates, which includes the esteemed elders of humanity. This distinguished group features figures such as Christ, Buddha, Muhammad, Gandhi, Francis of Assisi, Lao Tzu, Rama, Krishna, Count St. Germain, Joan of Arc, Paracelsus, and notable philosophers like Pythagoras, Plato, and Aristotle, among others.

I mention this to illustrate who the teacher of Aunel va Daath was. After reading around 12 of Samael Aun Weor's books, I can say that the Secret Teachings of Moses is an esoteric masterpiece. I’ve found this book to be more enjoyable than many of Weor's own works. Daath shares the information in a very clear and straightforward manner.

In summary, the book provides a Gnostic and Kabbalistic perspective on what I believe to be the true teachings of the Bible, which have been distorted, twisted, and corrupted into the phenomenon known as the savior complex, or the reliance on an external savior. The original Christian teachings are meant to serve as a path, guide, or map for internal initiation, allowing individuals to become their own saviors by awakening the serpent (sexual energy) within, preserving their seed, and elevating their energy up the spine (the tree of life). This book is seen as a threat to the established power structures that control the church, governments, and the world, similar to how Gnostic Christian teachings have historically posed a challenge. This is why Gnostic and various spiritual groups have faced severe persecution throughout history.

The Gnostics, such as Samael Aun Weor and his student, the author of this book, emphasize the importance of awakening one's inner god or goddess, which leads to personal responsibility for one's own salvation. When the Serpentine fire is ignited, it grants significant spiritual power, posing a direct challenge to the dark power structures that govern the planet.

Like the teachings of Samael Aun Weor, Hilton Hotema, Manly P. Hall, and Dr. George W. Carey, those who read this book will uncover that the Book of Genesis is written in a code that addresses the mastery of carnal lust. The Book of Revelation, on the other hand, presents a doctrine on Sexual Alchemy. In essence, regardless of one's relationship status, the Bible is a book of Chastity.

I highly recommend this book to everyone, but I believe that every true and authentic Christian should definitely read it.

I greatly appreciated being able to read and ponder over the text since I could take more time with it. Typically, I had learned about the ideas presented in the book through the podcasts and lectures on Gnostic Radio. The highlight of the book is the introduction to Genesis as an allegory for overcoming the base animal within in order to become like God. The main characters of Genesis are introduced as parts of the human pysche that show the degeneration of humans when the pursuit of pleasure defeats the part of us that is strive to be one with God. The House of Israel was not included in the exegesis unfortunately and the writing style was at times repetitive, unclear and abrupt which is likely a result of each chapter being one in a set of lectures put together to make up the book. The author recommends two books to read after this one: The Perfect Matrimony and The Elimination of Satan's Tail.
