Bu kitaptaki en başarılı özellik; doğal kaynaklarının sınıflandırılarak anlatılması. Böylesi bir sınıflandırma ile daha önce karşılamadım.

Doğal kaynakların mülkiyeti, yönetimi, kullanımı ve geliştirilmesi hakkında detaylı bilgi edinmek isteyenler bu kitabı okuyabilirler. Ridgeway'in bu hususlardaki derlemesi oldukça başarılı.

Özellikle, uyuşturucu ve ilaçlar, insanlar bölümlerinde oldukça çarpıcı ve ilk defa karşılaştığım ifadeler var. Son bölümde, gen mühendisliği çalışmalarının yarattığı fikri mülkiyet haklarının analizi oldukça güzel.

Kitapta zayıf bulduğum iki yer var. Birincisi; gıdalar bölümü diğer bölümlere göre daha yavan kalmış. İkincisi de, Ridgeway kaynak sahiplerini açıklarken, bu kaynak sahiplerinin kaynakları nasıl ve hangi güçle elde ettiğini çok açıklamıyor.

This book gives an overview of various global resources (such as oil, water, people, minerals, etc.) and where they stand in the global economy. Very interesting read.
