This is a Christian non-fiction book that uses the stories of some popular women of the Bible to show today's woman how she can learn to trust God in every season of her life. Each story is written in a lively, anecdotal style from the point of view of the main character, making her seem like a true flesh and blood person. The "Insights" section which gives practical applications to the story, “Reflections” and scriptural meditations make Women For All Seasons a book the reader will want to come back to again and again.
From the first day my elementary school teacher read my essay to the class, I knew I wanted to be a writer. But life got in the way, and that dream was not realized until years later when I returned to school and had my first short story published in P'an Ku, the college magazine.
From there I went on to win honorable mentions in Writer's Digest and other contests and have contributed to A Cup Of Comfort For Mothers and Chicken Soup For The Soul. I have also written hundreds of health and fitness articles for online magazines.
I am the author of Women For All Seasons, a Christian non-fiction book, and the Egypt series, consisting of Coming Out Of Egypt, In the Wilderness and In the Promised Land, in that order.
The Egypt series is written in the women's fiction genre and is greatly influenced by my work as an occupational therapist in behavioral health. There I have the opportunity to witness first hand the effects of sexual abuse, addiction and other societal ills, and try to make a positive difference in my patients' lives.
I believe that as writers we have a responsibility to impact the hearts and minds of our readers, to help transport them far and above the mundane realities of everyday life.
Apart from writing, I enjoy reading books that take me to places I've never visited, cooking healthful meals for my family - I'm a semi-vegetarian - participating in church activities and travel.
"Women for All Seasons" highlights 12 beloved female characters from the Bible. The book is broken down into 12 chapters - one for each character. I read one chapter a day as though I were reading a daily devotional, which I particularly enjoyed. Each story is a concise version of the biblical account and is set in a present-day scenario. Most of the characters are already well-known to me. However, I formed a new perspective of the familiar recitations and discovered new meaning and purpose while reading this work. The questions posed at the end of each chapter provoked deeper contemplation of the various issues covered in each story, and the Author's purpose shines through here. The Bible references at the end rounds up each chapter nicely. This book would be most beneficial to readers with very busy lifestyles. The little time that I spent reading and applying its substance to my life and circumstances each day was invaluable. I was blessed to have read "Women for All Seasons".
The book highlights twelve women in Bible who have undergone dramatic changes through particular seasons in their lives; however, Jesus was present and provided a way out or an answer to their fervent prayer(s).
I have read other book(s) in the past about the women in the Bible, yet, I like this approach. Angela Joseph gives the inspiring story of each women per chapter or section, insight follows the story to gain the main perspective or tone of each story, then a time to reflect of which has thought-provoking questions and lastly a time to meditate on the scriptures (see Joshua 1:8).
The twelve women from the Bible whom are mentioned in the book are: 1. Esther “courage” 2. Hagar “outcast” 3. Hannah “the barren” 4. Martha “the Servant” 5. Mary Magdalene “Misunderstood” 6. Mary “Mother of Jesus” 7. Mary of Bethany “The Worshipper” 8. Naomi “From the Bitter to Better” 9. Rachel “A Woman Scorned” 10. Ruth “the Redeemed” 11. Sarah “Woman of Promise” 12. Widow “Woman of Faith” *I am not sure of the author’s ordering of the biblical women and their stories; however, if Martha and Mary (of Bethany) are the sisters that have an experience with Jesus, I would suggest to put them back to back (#4 and then #5 instead of #7). Same would go for Naomi and Ruth, also Sarah and Hagar.
I always wondered why most women want their BOAZ; until I read this short biblical story in this book, I can see why. She states that “bringing BOAZ, a type of Christ, into their lives…” and if we see our mate as a man of Christ (or Christ-like) is a sure thing for a lifelong partner. Yet, I am a Joseph fan; he was a dreamer, a man of promise, added to every equation in his life and others, and was not only a leader but second in command (like a Prince of the land). Therefore, I guess there is nothing wrong with desiring both qualities in a mate. One of my favorite stories in the 12 was “Hannah” because not only was she barren and received the promise through her faith (prayed and believed)—she actually handed her first child over to do the work of God which makes me wonder how a woman can do that. You receive the blessed child that you believed and prayed for to only hand them over. However, the real blessing was her faith—produced a child—and then followed by 5 more children thereafter for a woman who was known to be barren, unable to get pregnant or have children.
Overall, I am glad this read was selected as a Christian review in a Goodreads’ group and thankful I purchased my copy. I greatly enjoyed this read and was enlightened by many of the stories in relation to my own life experiences of which continues to give me hope and to strive by proceeding with my God-given goals, and to share the love of Christ with others as a woman of God.

Inspiring! Each season is wonderfully written from the perspective of the women in the bible. Bringing each woman to life and what thoughts and motivations they may have had is original and thought provoking. I loved that most women of today could easily relate as the stories unfold. I enjoyed the questions and scriptural meditations at the end of the stories. I always like to read more once a story ends and this aspect truly fulfilled my desire. A good read.
So helpful in understanding the seasons of life as a woman. Also all the women in the bible who went through different trials and tribulations like myself and how God brought them through. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
