I was blessed to attend the beatification Mass for Blsd Conchita in Mexico City this May. I became interested in reading her works and found this little spiritual powerhouse. It describes the seasons of the soul, from the first awakening to God and zeal in the spring, through the storms of summer, fruits of virtue in the autumn, and pruning away of deadly vice in the winter. This short book touched me deeply and I plan to read more of Conchita’s works. This book reminded me of Interior Castle by St Theresa of Avila but much more condensed and a different model for the spiritual life. Would highly recommend to those pursuing the interior life!
