Used this book for my pre-clerkship course in ophthalmology. It is at an excellent level for pre-clinical learning, written clearly, and organized well.

The first chapter is about the eye exam, followed by chapters organized by symptom presentation (acute visual loss, chronic visual loss, red eye, injury, amblyopia/strabismus). After this, there is a chapter on neuro-ophthalmology which I found clearly and easy to understand (remembering is another matter, haha), and a chapter on ophthalmologic drugs which offers a very helpful summary of the main classes of drugs used.
There is a small section of review questions at the end of each chapter.

Overall, this was a very helpful book and I would recommend it to other students at the pre-clinical level.
