Rustem Adel'shevich Kutui (Russian: Рустем Адельшевич Кутуй) (1936-2010) was a famous Tatar writer, poet, translator and philosopher. Author of about 50 books of prose and poetry.

Rustem Kutuy was born into the family of the Tatar writer, national classic writer Adil Kutuy. Mother, Alima Sadykovna, worked as a doctor. Parents raised two more older daughters, Gulshat and Esmeralda. At the beginning of World War II, my father worked on the radio, in 1942 he volunteered for the front. The mother worked in a hospital. In 1943, my father came to Kazan for a visit, after which he conceived a fantastic novel "The Adventures of Rustem".
