I feel like this was a well-written book. I've read a decent number of books that discuss the Holocaust but this one took a different approach. I like the way the author included stories from eyewitnesses from start to end. Then he went on to discuss the key details of said story in greater detail. And the photos, no matter how hard they were to look at, really show the severity of the situation these people were forced to bear.
There isn't much else left to say on this. I think it was a great read and that I heard new stories that I hadn't heard before. I also really appreciated the final chapter where the author delved into the resistance that did exist during the Holocaust and the bravery of those who actively fought back.
I'd recommend it. Just you know, understand what you're reading. It should go without saying but the photos are very graphic.
