FROM NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING & AWARD-WINNING AUTHOR SELENA KITT ------------------ Tomboy mechanic Cat has fixed up a classic 1978 Chevy Nova in the school shop, but unless she passes her classes to get into a prestigious college, her stepfather, Ted, won’t let her drive it. Cat's a high-school senior who needs to pass her SATs but just doesn't "get" geometry. Enter the sexy, much older tutor, David, who has a shexshy English accent, so you know he's totally gonna bone her six ways to the Pythagorean Theorem.

Yes, there may have been a plaid skirt/white shirt/knee socks outfit involved, but the heroine wore it in an ironic vs. porny way. I think. I'm not sure Cat's smart enough to get irony.

This is a book with what I like to call "Christian Sex"--you can do everything BUT...and even then, you can totally do The Butt. Sigh. Cat wants to save her beloved hymen for the man she's going to have a "real" relationship with--not just the dude who's rubbing her titties and using the angle of her legs and crotchtal area to explain geometry. This could totally happen...well, in a Selena Kitt book it could happen.

Seriously, ask yourself--WWJD? Personally, I don't think he would give two thumbs up for anal, but I admit I have never read the The Bible in its entirety. I could've missed something.

Cat, I'm just sayin'...do you think Real Relationship Guy is gonna say, "Oh, you took it up the a**? My mom is gonna love you!"
Kitt generally writes some pretty raw erotica, and this was no exception. Cat seemed written as a very young 18 year-old, and I wasn't particularly enamored with the David who should've known better. He wasn't guilt-ridden enough for me before he went down-periscope on Cat's virginal ass.

He also had that shifty predator lingo down pat, with his, "Don't tell your parents--this will be our little secret." I suppose it's supposed to seem sexy and mysterious; instead it came across kinda skeevy.

And David seemed to put the full-court press on Cat to get summa that pussy, even though he'd told her he'd stop any time she asked. Yeah, be sure to ask Cat's butt how that worked out.

This was a quickie novella that no amount of lube could've saved, at least for me.

Cat Warren needs to boost her understanding of geometry in order to prepare for the SATs. At her step-father’s urging, she takes on a tutor, David Slater, who teaches her more than she can learn in a classroom.

Selena Kitt offers readers a brief, juicy escape in the form of one of my personal favorite kinks, teacher/student. This was a very fun story in many regards. I found myself grinning at small asides—Cat’s belief that it’s wrong to swear in front of someone from Britain was a perfect quirk that makes characters people and tales like these so enjoyable. Cat is the ideal depiction of a teenage girl. She’s sassy and often flighty in her interactions. David, her older, British tutor, possesses a dry sense of humor, and at first appears entirely indifferent to his newest student. It’s the perfect set up for a romantic, kinky interlude.

The devil, however, is in the details. The writing itself seemed sloppy, but that might have been intentional on the author’s part to reflect the perspective of her protagonist. Likewise, the build up from the teacher/student relationship to the erotic relationship seemed rushed. I would have liked more of their interaction prior to hitting the sheets; as it is, the shift is sudden and feels overly dramatic. Also, David’s vanishing ethics left me puzzled, and quite frankly, a bit turned off. He seemed to have no qualms about getting involved with his high-school aged student, and a bit demanding and unsympathetic in the bedroom.

That said, I was very much impressed with Ms. Kitt’s depiction of a virgin who is less than eager to “go all the way” because of fear and discomfort. That bit of realism was a refreshing change of pace in terms of deflowering scenes, and helped propel the story forward. Cat never lost her voice.

A Different Angle is a fun, quick read. If you like student/teacher stories, this isn’t one to miss. Yet be warned: it is not for the faint of heart.

Ok so short story is just like the blurb: Cat is a highschool senior who has to take her SAT's but needs a little extra help in Geometry so her stepdad gets her and English tutor. Its erotica, short, has teacher/student element some may or may not like but it is just like you'd expect. Cat or Catherine as he likes to call her cannot grasp the concept of Geometry. This small chested tom-boy and her tutor decide to throw in a little chemistry during the tutoring sessions.
Basically a little Geometry then make out time. I did like that fact that he understood and respected her decisions concerning her Virginity. Not many teens and adults would respect that in the heat of the moment. Loved Cat her attitude was perfect teen and her interactions with Paj I found funny at times.
It was a little short I could see this being a longer story but overall I liked it.

This is a typical Selena Kitt book: short, hot, somewhat taboo, fun and easy to read. I listened to the audiobook which was read by a phenomenal narrator, boosting up the overall rating. There is nothing extra special about this book unless you've read other books by Selena Kitt like I have which means you know how many books she has written and how incredible it is that she can still write something different after writing so many! In this particular book she did a fantastic job of taking a common, every day problem (an 18-year-old struggling to understand complex math problems), cleverly playing on words (math terminology) and other tools, to turn studying into a very erotic situation.

3 steamy virgin stars.... The sex was alright when it finally got to the sex. Which was only anal! Because she wanted to remain a virgin!? Umm...ok. I couldn't relate to the characters. She was tooo tom-boyish and he was too controlling and pushy. And i like controlling and pussy but this was tooo much. Im just happy it was a short story. I dont think the sex and smut would have held me to read a whole novel...

Not what I expected but it still delivered. Selena Kitt writes about a young/old fantasy in the form of a student-teacher relationship. There were instances when Cat showed her youth and David, his maturity. It ended in a non-ending, it's obvious that Cat and David just cherished their night together.

Cat's struggling in math, leaving her step dad who expects perfect scores, to hire David (hot. older. british.) to tutor her. Well, I guess you can figure out that more than calculous and number crunching is happening.

Short, erotic and HAWT!

I liked the characters and I realize that the situation could not have produced a HEA, however the ending was very rushed and very unsatisfactory.
