The only worthwhile part of this book was reading Jackson's words from the interviews. The author, however, made me wince all the way through with his extra special highlighted demonstrations of why he is not like all the other white people. Dude, you and George Jackson were not brothers separated at birth.
Strange book about George Jackson (author of Soledad Brother) by Gregory Armstrong. Or, maybe, it is actually first about Gregory Armstrong and then about George Jackson. The reported conversations Armstrong had with Jackson filled in some blanks left after reading Soledad Brother and Blood in My Eye (both by Jackson and edited by Armstrong), but Armstrong's confessional style of writing about himself was off-putting. And, I can't help but wonder about Armstrong's veracity. Strange book, but fascinating.
