America's First First World War: The French and Indian War, 1754-1763

Rate this book
Contrary to what many people believe, America did not fight her first World War in the trenches of Western Europe in 1917-1918. The first world war in which America was involved was fought on our native soil, with an impact on our nation's history at lieast as significant as that of the 1917-1918 war. It determined once and for all which power would dominate in North America, England or France. This popular, accessible, short history has been completely rewritten for this second edition and new illustrations have been added.

I’m giving this book 3 stars because it’s so dry. That said, this book is very well researched, has lots of further reading for anyone interested in dates and names of history. It sheds light on a little known part of American History, The French And Indian War. I appreciated learning some about the war and it’s leaders. But I will be looking for more books about the war that could be used to educate kids on that era of history.
