Everyone involved in electronics, either professionally or as a hobby, should have a working knowledge of oscillators. In this well-illustrated addition to the Mastering Electronics Series, Joseph J. Carr introduces the powerful and versatile oscillator in all its forms, from simple waveform generators to complex crystal and high-frequency RF oscillators. Like the other books in the series, this one teaches theory by putting it to practical use, involving readers in a series of benchtop experiments and several complete projects.
While certainly helpful in understanding radio frequency circuits, for a person like me playing around I couldn't do much with it as it relys heavily on new chips that I just didn't find on the old junk I'd drag home from the dump to salvage parts for making something more interesting.
