This is good for what it is, from what I can tell and know about trees, which is very little. I'd prefer personal and cultural connections to trees and plants rather than the mere ability to identify the proper genus and species, but this book obviously comes from a different approach. The little book is charmingly designed. I imagine, that for its smallish size, it will fit well in a future camping trip in the forests of California.

excellent. Almost as good as "Sierra Nevada Tree Identifier." Nice portable size for trips. Great illustrations.
