This book offers great philosophical reasons for teaching history in a new way. It also lists skills, projects and resources that offer diverse perspectives on history. I really appreciate the emphasis on the arts at the end.

This is a great book. Barton does a great job of working to get teachers to understand how students han engage in authentic historical inquiry. If I had any critique it would be this: What is the end-purpose of getting students to "Do History?" I think I disagree with Barton's rationale for the purpose, so the outcomes look a little different, but this book remains a fantastic resource for any history teacher.
