As a lover of animals and a humum to 3 dogs [my husband won't let me have 4!] I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I felt every emotion as I read about the frantic rescuing of the little canine mum from Rhodes and bringing her back to England. Then visiting her at every possible occasion whilst she was in quarantine for 6 months. She was a feisty little bitch who loved animals and humans alike, but her owners could never quite break her of the habit of foraging for food, reminiscent of the time she had to do as a stray, to be able to feed her 13 pups, and would often eat the prey that she had caught.
She lived alongside the 2 then 3 other dogs that shared their lives with their humans. Little Lindy reminded me of my own choccy lab, who is 12 now, but has been through several operations, so I could quite easily relate to Lindy's owners and their fears.
I would recommend this book to all animal especially dog lovers, but have a large 'man size' box of tissues with you.
