This book will tell you everything you need to know to become an enthusiastic and skilful cowboy – from important vocabulary, to what you should wear. A short history and some of the more famous stories of cowboys are included, together with advice on important equipment and accessories, ‘do’s and don’ts,’ and the best ‘cowboy places.’
Really cute little book, and rather amusing (though I am too easily amused at times) in places.
(In films cowboys were mostly tall, handsome and jong. In real life they were mostly old... often their horses were better looking than them.)
(The horse has to carry all this stuff and also the cowboy on its back. And all it gets after a long day is a handful of straw and a concert of cowboy voices and a harmonica.)
This cheerfully illustrated book tells you how to be a cowboy, the history of cowboys, horses, saloons and even recipes. Great for our Unit of Inquiries into Stories.
