With traditions, records, and Bruins lore, this lively, detailed book explores the personalities, events, and facts every Boston fan should know. It contains crucial information such as important dates, player nicknames, memorable moments, and outstanding achievements by singular players. This guide to all things Bruins covers the year the team switched their colors and the player that holds the team record for 10 penalties.
As a die-hard Bruins fan, I was really excited to read the book, and I did read it cover-to-cover. However, I would not recommend doing that. This book is really more of the "bathroom reader" type, meant to be picked up once and a while and taken in pieces. The author repeats himself an incredible amount of times in describing who someone is (if I have to hear him identify who Harry Sinden is one more time...) or what happened during a particular event that you get annoyed with him. Helpful I guess if you read a couple pages once a week, but not when you read it straight through. In addition, the title is quite misleading, as it is definitely more of things you should "know" than "do" (By a ratio of close to 10:1).
There is definitely some great history here for fans of the Bruins to learn, but it could have been presented in a much better manner.
