A fascinating and engaging exploration on the impact that consorts of the British monarch have had, from 1727 to the present day. I thoroughly enjoyed this book in learning about the evolution of the constitutional monarchy during this time period, as well as considering the future of the monarchy as society continues to also evolve. Impeccably researched and presented with chapters dedicated to each consort, with analysis on their private and public roles. Highly recommend!
