My husband may not be a believer, but I am. How can I not? He was there for me all the way, even when I thought He wasn’t. When I feel abandoned, afraid and when I lost hope, He never failed to be there for me. He’s my God. He’s my faithful protector. I resent the fact that I was too blind to see it back then, but I am glad He showed me the light and led me back to Him. he is… my one and true love.

While my in laws are idol worshipers, I can safely say I am not, and while I want to give my boy freedom to choose his own religion when he grows up, I’d teach him as much as I can about what I believe in. ( I believe that religion is a very spiritual thing. You cannot force others to believe what they don’t, and therefore, religion is something between you and Him).

I believe that it’s never to early to introduce children to the Holy Book, and the way to do it is to introduce them to biblical characters in a very fun and illustrative way.

I highly recommend Kids’ Guide to Bible Animals if you want to show your children the animals whose stories were told inside the Bible.

This guide is very informative, and I’d give it a 5 star.

I still love all the books in this series. I'm not sure that this one will be as beneficial as the others I have read, but it is still a good resource. Several expected animals are listed, such as lions, camels, and donkeys. However, there are also many animals that children might not have heard much about, such as the bittern, cormorant, and the ossifrage. Each animal gets a thorough description and pertinant "did you know"s are listed as side bars. Best of all, after each description, there is a short Bible story that includes that animal.

This was an e-galley copy, so it didn't include the usual graphics and pictures the other books in the series have had. I assume the actual book will have the great graphics that are so eye-catching in the others. Another book I'll be buying for my Sunday school kids!

Edit on March 29, 2012 - We bought this whole series for our 2nd grade Sunday School class, and I was completely wrog when I said I didn't know if this one was going to be as beneficial. THEY LOVE IT - and when we covered Daniel and the Lion's Den this week, they were completely tripping out on the lion facts. I still can't get over how useful this whole series is in our teaching.

This is a great book to get children interested and involved in reading the Bible as well as a very informative one. Mrs. Landreth explains the class of animals that each belong to, their specific characteristics, how they live, survive and communicate. She doesn't overlook animals we have no current evidence of but gives varying opinions of Bible experts regarding their existence. She gives facts that may not be commonly known as well as dispelling some information that we may have perceived as factual. The book includes Bible references for each animal and instances of their use in the Bible. I think this book is a great tool for children and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for something unique to pique their child's interest in the Bible.
