This English translation of an Icelandic book is the definitive account of how the first Icelanders came to settle in Canada. A must-read for anyone of Icelandic descent. A beautiful thing; handsomely written and structured.Svavar Gestsson

This was an interesting account of Iceland immigration to Canada in the 19th and early 20th century. The author does a good job of explaining life in Iceland at the time, and the struggles and challenges faced by the immigrant settlers as they arrived and tried to make a home for themselves in this new land.
