Data Without Tears: How to Write Measurable Educational Goals and Collect Meaningful Data

Rate this book
Data Without Tears is a helpful tool designed for teachers who are faced with the daunting task of collecting educational data to fulfill a variety of legal and administrative requirements involved in IEPs, BIPs, and RTI. This new resource provides an easy-to-use model for writing goals and objectives efficiently, effectively, and in a straightforward manner. Educators will learn how to collect data, when and where to collect it, and how to interpret it so that instruction and interventions can be adjusted to increase each student's success. This tool is for all students, and is especially useful for helping students with autism, severe behavioral disabilities, or highly aggressive behavior. Data Without Tears promotes the use of data to document the progress, or lack of progress, in a student's academic and behavioral program, and gives educators the information needed to make decisions about changes to behavioral and academic interventions or instructional strategies.

Short book filled with great useable information on writing and implementing IEP procedures. Simple steps are given by the author in nontechnical jargon and many wonderful examples. I loved the way she should how to take data that can be graphed on the same sheet.
