Written by one of us, who lives the life. At least one friend even knows the namesake of the Books' Producer, Flash, Outlaw 1%er (his daughter, who rides, now runs the company). Bill Hayes' lifestyle allows him the insight to get it right. His respect for bikers of all persuasion allow him their respect and honesty which - through interviews - enhances Hayes' ability to get it right. Here's a quote from one of his interviews: "Bikers are an endangered species; motorcycle riders are a dime a dozen" (Rogue, p. 309).
A must read for Bikers, and anyone wanting a glimpse into the life. Hayes takes us into "bikerdom" [sorry!]. Most BS media sensationalism gives readers little more than the fear based image initiated by the biker flicks of the early 60s, which was itself spawned by the fear inducing [and staged] Hollister "coverage". This has led to citizens' fear-based prejudice against us. In turn, that has allowed society to systematically trample our rights and limit our freedom. In the last decade or two, we have come to know the true enemy, and are learning to fight them as a cohesive unit with the advent of Bikers' Rights Organizations and Coalitions of Clubs (exceptions are noted, well known and unfortunate, IMHO.)
Contains a bibliography and an extensive index; four pages of clubs in the index (can you find your club, if not one of the "Big Four"?) Four pages of "must see" movies (which you've probably already seen), and two pages of books (yes, we Can read).
I hope I got a couple of bikers interested enough to pick up a copy of Hayes work. If so, loan it to a brother when you're done. Pass it on. The title of the last chapter? "We Ain't Goin' Quietly". Keep it loud.
ps; anyone I Know, ask for a copy of a College paper I wrote; the premise is "media & lies vs Bikers." If you don't Know me, don't ask.

Good book. It shows various sides in the biker lifestyle from outlaw to Christian. As a biker myself, he tells the story of our way of life well.
