Plants and the Environment provides a description of what plants need to survive and talks about the importance of the rain forest. This book provides vivid photographs that help children understand why we need plants and the environment. When teaching literacy from this book, I would use this book for persuasive writing. I would reference the harm that his been done to the plants and environments around us, and they would use the facts from the book to create their own letter. I would explain that these letters should be an idea about how our town can help keep the planet more green.
