I was seven years old when my father died of a heart attack at a young age. He was my mother’s soulmate. It broke her and she vowed she would never love or marry again.
Thanks to my father’s legacy we lived a quiet and comfortable life. We had each other and were happy. Then my mother met Fritz, a wealthy billionaire.
It was no longer just the two of us. My mother married Fritz and we moved into the mansion that he shared with his twin sons, Sven and Mirko in Miami. They instantly disliked me.
Then tragedy struck, killing both my mother and stepfather. That’s when Sven and Mirko started to make my life a living hell. I had a stay and become their servant or leave and live on the streets.
And from that moment on, my life was anything but the fairytale.
This was a good retelling of a classic story. Being MM made it better. This was so good I couldn't put it down. The chemistry was good. It was well written
I have read many Cinderella retelling books but this is my first MM one. It is so good. It was refreshing to read a male retelling of this story. While, I might have did a little comparison side by side in my head from the original to this story, there was enough different elements to make the story its own.
Instantly, I felt an emotional connection towards Rick. After the lose of his mother, who he was close to, he should have been able to find support with his new stepbrothers. Unfortunately, he was treated like the hired help. His stepbrothers, Sven and Mirko are horrible people. My anger towards them was fierce. Luckily for rick, he had his best friend, Ethan and his love interest Hayden to support him.
Readers of MM and retelling stories will want to pick up a copy of this book. Cinderfella is a spicy and magical read!
“Love is love, and it doesn’t matter in what shape, form, or color it comes in."
Cinderfella is a reimagining Cinderella story, except instead of a young woman and handsome prince, the main characters are 2 handsome men. One a prince and the other a humble man who has had a lot of tragedy in his life. Having to also contend with 2 nasty stepbrothers, Rick is the lowest he’s ever been. Basically a prisoner in his home, he must follow the orders of his stepbrothers. When Hayden enters his life, things brighten up, however there’s still obstacles in the way. Will Hayden find happiness with his Prince Charming? Will the evil siblings get their just desserts? Read and find out. Cinderfella is a terrific m/m story and well written. Highly recommended
I loved the concept behind this story but the book didn't work for me. Previous books by Author JO Mantel have been enjoyable but this was very different in writing style and didn't genre. It wasn't a book I could read without putting down.
It's a fairytale retelling, set in a fictional Miami. The characters are great, I found myself wanting to hug them both on more than one occasion but found their story wanting more.
This is a very good retelling of the classic fairytale. Rick perseveres through tragedies and come out whole on the other side. Hayden is his Prince Charming in real life. I enjoyed this book very much.
I’ve always loved a great re-telling and this story certainly didn’t disappoint. The author puts a unique and brilliant twist on the classic children’s tale. A very well written story with lots of moments to give you all the right feels. The two lead characters are great together. Rick, our Cinderfella, struggles with the pressure of step-siblings while trying to find love and happiness. Then in steps Hayden, our modern day Prince Charming. And when the two of them meet, it’s not your pure love-at-first-sight that you might be used to. If you’re a fan of the original classic and a lover of MM, then this is the book for you.
