The 2nd grade students of Fletcher Walker Elementary School decided to write and illustrate a book about picture day at their school. It consists of self-portraits that were drawn by the students. This book is a wonderful example of how students can be authors. Students can look at the picture of the average, normal kids and not see just kids, but authors. They can then see that in themselves.
