This book, written by a speech-language pathologist, is a delightfully humorous book that children will beg to have read to them night after night. It is a great book for teaching early literacy because it contains many of the components recommended by early literacy specialists; i.e. dialogue set in bubbles for print awareness, rhyming, colorful pictures, repetition and predictability, counting, and interactive dialogue for language development. This book comes with an interactive CD-ROM that has the words read as they are highlighted. There are many visual surprises on the CD-ROM that delight the children.

About the author

I am a retired speech/language pathologist. My greatest influences in writing children's books have been my special needs students. I like to include some learning activities in all my stories. Additional influences have been my grandchildren. I love to play language and rhyming games with them. My book, The Book of IF for Children, came out of the car game. If your mother said, "Eat your meat", and you thought she said, "Eat your feet", what would you do?

I lived in Norway for nine years and I have been influenced by the Scandinavian culture. I have in mind a Christmas book I would like to write featuring their Christmas troll, the Julenissen.

My next project (I hope) will be a novel that takes place in the Piney Woods of East Texas where I grew up.
