An inspiring book of creativity and old ways of decorating, gifting, and cooking. Prior to mass produced Christmas decorations, people would use holly and evergreens to decorate their homes. What God provided through nature is what people would use during this festive season. It was also a time of handcrafted gifts and traditional foods cooked from scratch. Simpler ways of living with the focus being-- to quote-- "Prepare to receive the most important gift of all: the company of family and friends."

I've been a subscriber to the magazine for eons and have several of their books. My collection of their Christmas books comes out every October to give me inspiration for the holidays. The decorating style and quotes and recipes are inspirational, harkening back to a more gentle time.
