I got this book because it seemed like it used more natural materials, and they do use a lot of freshwater pearls. A lot of the designs consist of stringing seed beads and pearls to make it look like a pendant. Some people like those but I'm not a big fan of them, so I didn't get a lot of use out of the book.

The directions and diagrams are pretty thorough, the only problem I had was that the photos of the finished jewelry are very artsy so if you are having a problem, you can't always see that part of the jewelry item in the picture. Sometimes I need to see the real finished product to understand what they are trying to do, so that made it hard for me with some of these designs.
