Here is some brief information about myself.

I’m interested in science because it helps us to understand the world. I enjoy finding out about new things and then working out how to write about them in a way that is both clear (and accurate) but which also conveys my own excitement and interest. I particularly like writing books that are fun, and I have been lucky to have had so many chances to do so.

I was born in Yorkshire in England, but grew up in Stranraer, a small town in south-west Scotland. I graduated from Edinburgh University and then came down to London, where I have lived ever since. I enjoy reading novels, watching films, and walking in the countryside.

1. This book has not received any awards.

2. This book can be used from preschool all the way up to grade six.

3. This book is a book about the life cycle of an apple. The book talks about all the important steps it takes to make a delicious fall snack. From what is an apple orchard, to how long a tree lives, this book will tell you it all. This book shows you from the start of a little seed to the growing of a full grown delicious apple.

4. I always think about my favorite part of elementary school and fall was it, because of the field trip to the apple orchard of course. This book brought me back to that time in school, where teachers would read lots of books on apples and even decorate the classroom with apples. Living in the Hudson Valley all my life, apples have always been so important to me. In reading this book it brought me back to my childhood love for apples.

5. This book can be used when learning about apples in the classroom. Before going on a field trip to the apple orchard, as a class we can read this book. In reading this type of informational book, the children will be able to see actual pictures of what to expect at an apple orchard. When at the orchard they will be able to know what they are talking about because of this book.

Another use of this book is when teaching about different life cycles. In showing that the process of getting an apple is a cycle, we can explore the many other things that have life cycles. This can be a lesson of different types of cycles like weather cycles or just to keep it simple it can be on life cycles of different things like, butterflies, flowers, etc.
