This book gives an insider glimpse into the age old society of Bhutan. It is intriguing to read about the rituals and thoughts in Buddhism through the eyes of a rural boy. It gives you a broad picture of the old rural Bhutan. The anecdotes about monks, local adages and the beliefs of the simple, rural people are refreshing accounts.

A delightful book. I have had the good fortune to visit Bhutan twice, and this little book brought back so many vivid memories of my time there. It is an insight to way of living in harmony with nature that we have often lost sight of in the modern world.
