The book describes the personal story of the author with his ulcerative colitis autoimmune disease. He describes well how he coped with it and when he struggled. I found it in spots mind opening and really enjoyed reading it.
The format of this book is a bit odd with all its scribblings. Not in a negative way, though. I just have never seen such a page format before.
Raman Prasad is well know in the SCD world. Having had a year long journey with this diet made me disagree with it and gave me strong dislikes about the entire U.S. SCD community that is to me comparable with a religious sect. That said, I was really relieved that the author talks about the diet aspect only briefly and not in a religious manner. He describes it as his tool that fixes his symptoms and not like a religion -- something really rare in that community.
