My 1966 edition of 'Markings and Camouflage Systems of Luftwaffe Aircraft in World War II - Volume 1' consists of a few pages of text outlining the rational of the camouflage and markings applied to various Luftwaffe aircraft types, before launching into over 60 pages of colourful illustrations of unit emblems, gruppe emblems, and example aircraft types. Things have moved on since 1966, but this does hold up well in many areas.
