Factually incorrect, and ignores important details to make invalid arguments. For example- Babur created a Mongol (questionable, if anything Turko-Mongol) regime in India, putting an end to crazy chaos caused by those "intolerant" Muslims. Um, Babur WAS Muslim and came from a Timurid and Safavid (BOTH Muslim) background. Many mistakes like this pepper the book.
I'm a history major and found this book really difficult to read. It was so dry and unenthusiastic. I took a class with one of the authors and it was the same. I've read some great history books in the last few years but this was one of the worse I've read. Each page was long and just drolled on.
I found many negative reviews about this book however I really enjoyed it. It is concise indeed but very fact - explaining and with short but good quality historical insight. Persuaded me to proceed to Volume 2.
