Concentric Circular Antenna Arrays: Analysis and Design

Rate this book
This book provides a comprehensive study on concentric circular antenna arrays and its role in wireless communications. The first chapter reviews the propagation characteristics and mobile channel impairments, then introduces the concept of smart antenna technology and its role in performance improvement for mobile systems. Chapter two describes the various two-dimensional array structures for mobile communications including planer rectangular arrays, circular arrays, and introduces the concentric circular arrays concepts. Finally in chapter three, the concentric circular antenna arrays are extensively studied where its performance in terms of sidelobe level and beamwidth is discussed through different beam design techniques employing the tapered beamforming windows.
