I liked the way the patterns were presented. The author starts each section with a description of the garment type followed by a basic generic template. Next comes directions and charts for various fair isle projects which the knitter can choose to knit as presented or customize. The gloves and mittens are knit from the thumb/fingers down. The charts are a generous size and include animals. Tips for success are included along the way.

The mittens and gloves are good, has a "base" pattern to work off of and a lot of color charts, which is nice. I'm not a fan of the hats or a lot of the patterns tbh. Some useful information here and there, might be a good source to practice color knitting, and to practice knitting gloves and mittens.

Gorgeous photos, great graphs. Hard ... I'm probably too young in my knitting career for this.

I love the nature inspired patterns in this book. There are a few basic hat patterns which vary mostly by the design you use. I have bought the yarn to make several of them, but have not yet knit any. Especially like the chickadee and cardinal designs.
