The Shepherd's Forgotten Christmas

12-year-old Thomas Shepherd, discovers that his mother, who always does Christmas up big, has totally forgotten Christmas this year. Last year, he had two parents, a big house and holidays that could be filmed for television. This year, his father is living in Connecticut, his mother is working two jobs, and there is no tree, no presents, and most importantly, none of his mother’s famous homemade Christmas cookies. So Thomas decides to run away, surprise his father with a Christmas visit. Of course it doesn't go quite as he planned.
