The Author mainly criticized permissive superstition of political power in ancient China. Citing a bulk of reference directly from ancient history, makes it hard to understand (for me at least).
I don't like the way author analyze. As a matter of fact, he barely try to analyze the reason why ancient Chinese people were continuously trapped into the superstition of political power. (for this part, I recommend Mu-Chou Poo 's book about ghosts of ancient China.)
So I'm afraid that if one doesn't know how political superstition occurs exactly, it's almost impossible for them to overcome the political superstition. The critic itself shall easily transform into some new dogma.
