A good start, using a puzzle to explain unknowns, but not so interesting after that. Pictures look very dated now.

This book describes and portrays algebra in easy to understand terms and examples. Author uses jellybeans in a bag, the unknown, let's it represented by the letter "x". Then it goes on to inform students that if we do something to one side of the equation, we must do it to the other. To reinforce the lesson, an activity could be used to have students do a similar problem with other items is the classroom. This book should be used in conjunction of teacher instruction.

This book for older kids was hard to stick with. It is a book about algebra which is great but there were a ton of words on each page, the pictures were blah and my attention was lost. A good book in theory but kinda boring.
