This updated and expanded edition is divided into 19 sections on all aspects of emergency medicine. Sections include decision making in the ED, primary complaints, nontraumatic illness, CNS, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, GI tract, genitourinary tract, hematology/oncology, metabolism/ endocrinology, infectious disease, environmental emergencies, pediatrics, toxicologic trauma, behavioral emergencies, emergency medicine administration and risk management, and medical control and disaster management.
A must read for anyone interested in emergency medicine. I carried it with me on all of my shifts and it helped with the differential diagnosis for undifferentiated patients. It is easy to read and appropriately detailed. I wouldn't recommend it as the only study material for a test because there are no practice questions.
