I bought four of these books for my granddaughters. I'm pleased to see that these books follow the quirky rhyming cat in the hat speech and illustrations. I also love the Glossary, For Further Reading and Index at the back of each book. These are educational and informative books that go in depth without being boring. I think kids will love them.
Clam-I-Am The Cat in the hat takes the children to explore sea creatures. Educational notes are added throughout the book. I did enjoy the way the children were taken below the water and still learned about tides and beach conditions. My only downside is that it is very American in the language and creatures names, such as sea star we refer to as starfish.
Oh, The Pets You Can Get This journey the Cat in the hat takes the children on is to Gerpletz in a bus full of animals. The children learn about different animals and birds and how to look after them, what they eat, and what is good exercise, training and care. Again the rhymes and fun children are introduced to bringing animals into the home that suit your home and lifestyle.
If I Ran the Rainforest Sally and Nick join the Cat in the hat on a journey into the steamy and wet rainforest. They learn about plants, animals, frogs and bugs. The book ends appropriately with 'Save the trees please!'
Wish For a Fish In this book, the children are taken aboard a submarine S.S. Undersea Glubber. They are taken from the surface of the sea down through the Sunny Zone, Twilight Zone, Dark Zone, Abyss -the Trench at the bottom you won't want to miss. Again The Cat in the hat shows them creatures in all the different levels.
