Wriggling around, Valo pushed his feet against the crack in the shell and pushed as hard as he could. At first nothing happened, but as he kept pushing, gradually the crack got bigger and bigger. One large piece of the shell fell away, and for the first time Valo was able to see the outside world. What a shock! He had imagined what the world might look like, but the reality was more than he could ever have dreamed. Above him was a huge bright blue sky and as he peeked through the gap, he could see grasslands and trees stretching away into the distance to the far horizon.
