Accidental Cure: Extraordinary Medicine for Extraordinary Patients

Rate this book
Twenty five years ago, Dr. Simon Yu, a board-certified medical doctor specializing in internal medicine, found himself working at an HMO prescribing drugs that masked the symptoms of disease, but did not cure disease. He had reached a turning point in his career and decided to research what is known as integrative medicine - a path that combines natural therapies with conventional methods. Integrative medicine seeks to achieve healing with therapies that stimulate the body's own mechanisms of rebuilding and repair. This book contains a detailed account of his discoveries in the United States and Europe, and how he learned to diagnose and treat underlying causes of chronic diseases. Dr. Yu identifies and addresses five main causes of chronic illnesses which are commonly heavy metals, food allergies and sensitivities, dental problems, diet and nutrition, and parasites and fungal problems. Your medical problems may not be what you think or what you have been told. Accidental Cure refers to a discovery that Dr. Simon Yu made in Bolivia during a U.S. Army Reserves assignment in 2000. The Army was there to dispense anti-parasite drugs to 10,000 Bolivians. In the few weeks that Dr. Yu worked with patients in Bolivia, he noticed remarkable changes in patient health and decided to try the drugs in his practice when he returned to St. Louis. Dr. Yu has startling results by treating the multiple overlooked and synergistic causes of chronic illness, which vary by the individual. Root causes include parasites, fungi/mold, and a range of dental problems, from mercury toxicity and root canals to cavitations, in addition to food allergies and sensitivities, and environmental toxins. There are many case studies in his book that describe "incurable" and other chronic diseases that disappear when these ongoing challenges to the immune system are systematically identified and addressed. This book explains Dr. Yu's innovative technique of Acupuncture Meridian Assessment as part of a comprehensive medical evaluation, and includes many resources for patients.

Having been around "holistic" medicine for the majority of my life I thought I knew the basic protocols of maintaining health and healing and had seen it all but was I ever wrong. The book description doesn't do it justice. The book is so much more than that. Accidental cure made me rethink curing illnesses as well as my philosophy of health. Dr. Yu provides practical advice and important philosophical health ideas to muse upon. I highly recommend this book to anyone willing to ready it.
