Peter is a planning officer at Nottingham City Council. Every day on the bus to work he notices a girl who spends the journey scribbling in a battered notebook. On the day she disappears, instead of getting off at her usual stop, the girl waits and dashes off to the railway station instead, leaving her notebook on the bus. Peter picks it up and starts to read... In the ensuing police search, Peter, having read Sophie's diary, knows more about her than anyone else. He also knows that the truth about what finally happened to her is a truth he must keep entirely to himself.

The inteigue is amazing, really powerfull, it keeps u aeake and tou just wanna know. I was only sad about the end that wasnt as most as powerfull :) but overall really good!

Het duurde even voordat ik in het verhaal kwam, vooral doordat het verhaal van Sophie en Peter geen aparte kop ofzo hadden maar gewoon achter elkaar door gingen.

Ik verwachtte (te) veel van dit boek. Het begon goed maar werd dan enorm langdradig. Heb tot ongeveer de helft gelezen en dan meteen doorgebladerd naar het einde. Maar zelfs toen ik het einde wist, had ik nog steeds geen zin om het verhaal helemaal te lezen. Jammer, had veel potentieel nochtans. Was er hier geen film van gemaakt? Of eentje dat er op lijkt? Want die wil ik sowieso wél uitzien!
