David Malouf has won considerable acclaim for his opera his adaption of Patrick WHITE'S NOVEL VOSS and his re-telling of the Frankenstein story in MER DE GLACE. BBBS is his first libretto for British operat company (OPERA NORTH), and the music is to be by Michael Berkeley, son of Lennox Berkeley, often seen on BBC 1 and 2 presenting concerts and opera. BBBS is an operatic adaption of THE JUNGLE BOOK weaving in elements from nursery rhymes and fairy tales, with music by Michael Berkeley, to be performed by the OPERA NORTH company in Summer 1993.
