Dr. Wiersbe and his wife, Betty, live in Lincoln, Nebraska.
This is really, very good. Probably better than a 4 star and should be pushed to a 5. This will give you the encouragement and push you need to stick it out, and prayerfully take your concerns to the Lord for help.
I dropped it because it dragged for a while. The final chapter (about Christ) was simply perfect, and he had a page or two during Timothy and Titus where he discussed himself that was really powerfully. About how he practically considers quitting, and the steps he begins taking when those thoughts arise. It was very powerful. But you also had the 14 other chapters where he kind of talks in circles.
It's hard to see how the Bible verses all relate. Not that I'd accuse him of taking anything out of context, the man is a brilliant theological scholar which is why I continued reading the book. There are simply so many of them and I have a hard time making the connection he is trying to make.
They also tend to be short in the area of practicality. The few pages about himself are so powerful because up to that point the message has been generic. Something that a person thinking about quitting won't find value in.
The reminders of Christ are always powerful. I can never hear enough about Christ's work on the cross, and this book really helped put some things in perspective.
