I honestly have no idea on how I feel about this book. This manga didn't keep me interested because there wasn't much there. So this review will be very short.

What to say about this manga . . . Well, it was okay at best. It wasn’t horrible or anything like that but it wasn’t interesting enough for me to be to want to finish this manga series.

In a nutshell, this is basically James Bond but manga style. The main character is mysterious, a powerful assassin, a ladies man, and a kickass strategist. There’s not much to this guy really. He’s badass and there’s little known about him . . . and that’s about it.

The other characters, they’re not interesting either. I’m not sure you can even all them characters really. They just appear, serve their purpose and that’s it. So as you can see, the character cast is very tiny.

There’s not much to the story either. It’s just the main character taking jobs while also having this mysterious past that no one seems to know. But I do admit that he’s very creative and resourceful on how he gets his job done. Just looking at the strategies he uses is always fun and I do enjoy those parts. The other scenes, not so much.

I can’t find anything else to say about it. It wasn’t bad, you either find it enjoyable or you don’t. For me, I just didn’t find it that interesting.

Life Moves On…

The safety personnel saw the problem when one of the pipes got cracked due to the crane’s operator who accidentally bumped it. But the situation got worse when the repair got delayed, and there was celebratory visitation by the people who approved the building of the nuclear power plant. There was a heat build-up, and there was panic. The guests naturally evacuated pretty quickly. And the safety supervisor took leadership and devised a solution. He recalled seeing Golgo 13 do a shooting. So, when the nearby town were evacuated, he zeroed in on him. He hired him to do a job by breaching one of the pipes to relieve the pressure before the system became critical mass.
At a small town, G13 resided there as a businessman taking a vacation. However, the residents of the hotel are not what they seem. They’re gangsters in a hideout. It seemed Golgo 13 was biding his time to strike.

I have to say Golgo 13 does have some very original stories. At times things can get confusing, but for the most part the storylines are very creative. This volume deals with a nuclear power plant accident in California, and a former mob boss hiding out in Las Vegas. While the mob story is similar to some other Golgo 13 stories, the power plant story was a little out of the ordinary. This series is fairly consistent in that most of the stories are good, even if some are better than others. Keep in mind, however, this entire series is a "best of" collection, so the original series probably had more low points then you'd find here.
