This volume collects two Golgo 13 episodes - Eye of God and Not Far From an Era. In the first tale, an intelligence operative with access to a spy satellite thinks he can cow Golgo 13. In the second, a guy hires Golgo 13 to shoot his wife's earring off to teach her a lesson and she takes one in the chest instead and Golgo goes on the run.

The first story was decent. Takao Saito or more likely someone ghosting him draws a good Yassir Arafat. The ending was a nice touch, although someone thinking they can pull the wool over Duke Togo's eyes is ludicrous.

The second story was great. Golgo's target winds up dead by someone else's hand and Duke goes on the run while he figures out what happened. This one is from 1973 so there's a good chance Saito did the work himself. It feels livelier, that's for sure.

That's pretty much it. I read this during my son's nap and it was very entertaining. I wish these were printed in publication order in big phone book editions. Four out of five stars.

I thought this was one of the better volumes. First story deals with a satellite in the sky that can pinpoint anyone doing anything. The second involves a plot to basically frame Golgo 13. The series tends to run hot and cold, but when it's good, it's very good.

I honestly have no idea on how I feel about this book. This manga didn't keep me interested because there wasn't much there. So this review will be very short.

What to say about this manga . . . Well, it was okay at best. It wasn’t horrible or anything like that but it wasn’t interesting enough for me to be to want to finish this manga series.

In a nutshell, this is basically James Bond but manga style. The main character is mysterious, a powerful assassin, a ladies man, and a kickass strategist. There’s not much to this guy really. He’s badass and there’s little known about him . . . and that’s about it.

The other characters, they’re not interesting either. I’m not sure you can even all them characters really. They just appear, serve their purpose and that’s it. So as you can see, the character cast is very tiny.

There’s not much to the story either. It’s just the main character taking jobs while also having this mysterious past that no one seems to know. But I do admit that he’s very creative and resourceful on how he gets his job done. Just looking at the strategies he uses is always fun and I do enjoy those parts. The other scenes, not so much.

I can’t find anything else to say about it. It wasn’t bad, you either find it enjoyable or you don’t. For me, I just didn’t find it that interesting.

Never Track a Tiger…

The man who gets information from the spy satellite should know better than not heed the warning from G13 about setting up traps or plan an insane doublecross. The US president knew better than to trust the old man who get info from spy satellites trying to play manipulative games.
Golgo 13 was hired to shoot the earring off the client’s wife’s ear. Unexpectedly, somebody had others and shot the wife and tried to frame him. Read the rest and find out why.

OK, I will continue reading all of them because I have to know if there is something different in one of them, but it is beggining to be a very disappointing reading
